Francesca spotted that my baby had a tongue tie, and helped refer us in to a specialist clinic, where my daughter had her tongue tie procedure done at two weeks old. “Francesca was a fantastic help when my son, who was born at 34+3 weeks, struggled to latch and breastfeed effectively. Following our online appointment, I felt much more confident with my handling, positioning and how to encourage an effective latch.
Francesca held our appointment over Google Meet due to COVID restrictions, and a virtual consultation was excellent as it meant she was still able to visualise my son’s feeding and give appropriate feedback. Her approach to helping us was fantastic! She gave educational information and advice, practical feedback and lots of reassurance. ”I always knew that breastfeeding my baby was incredibly important to me and I was absolutely determined to do my best to ensure I could. Francesca helped me so much not just in those first crucial weeks but throughout my whole breastfeeding journey.
At the start, I became very sore quickly due to a poor latch. Francesca and I had several consultations over FaceTime and she helped me establish a good, deep latch as well as reassure me that things were going well. I am a worrier and as a new Mum, was terrified I wasn’t doing it properly. I unfortunately suffered several times with blocked ducts as well. Francesca gave me some brilliant advice of all the tricks and home remedies to try that would help clear it up naturally without me needing antibiotics.
I seemed to be quite prone to blocked ducts so she also recommended some natural products to take to help prevent it from happening. My baby is now nearly 18 months old and still has a feed in the evening. This is my favourite time of day. Breastfeeding has truly been the most rewarding thing I have ever done and I’m so grateful for our breastfeeding journey. Francesca has supported me throughout, been so knowledgeable and helped me at every hurdle, thank you.”
